An illustrative scenario: keeping an eye on a vacant property
This is an illustrative scenario created to explain security thinking. It does not describe actual CastleRock Security work, clients or premises.
The situation
Picture a small commercial unit in West Lothian, empty for several months while a new lease is agreed. The owner lives elsewhere and cannot visit regularly. The property has a rear yard, a roller shutter and a history of fly-tipping in the lane behind.
This scenario is illustrative — it shows the kind of thinking behind a patrol arrangement rather than describing actual CastleRock work.
A considered approach
In a case like this, an owner might agree a schedule of visible patrol visits at varied times, with each visit covering the same defined checkpoints: shutter, rear door, yard gate, windows and the lane.
Each visit would produce a short report — what was checked, what was found, and photographs where something had changed. Small issues, like a forced gate hinge or dumped rubbish, get flagged before they become bigger ones.
What the owner gains
The value is not just deterrence. It is the steady flow of accurate information: the owner knows the property’s condition week by week, has evidence if insurers ask, and hears about problems while they are still cheap to fix.
Every property is different, so frequency, checkpoints and reporting would always be agreed around the specific site.
